New Sight Congo

80% people in the world who are blind or visually impaired suffer from preventable or treatable causes of blindness. New Sight is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering and partnering with local communities to preserve and restore sight.

While eye health services are inadequate in many low-income countries, they are non-existent in northern Congo. Medical ministry is not cheap, but we simply cannot put a price tag on sight.

Emma Porter (3 years old) has been diagnosed with a rare disease called Acute Necrotizing Encephalopathy which caused an autoimmune over-response. Effectively, her body launched an attack on her brain, causing severe swelling. She is currently in the ICU at Lurie’s Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
